about
PHARAVARĪ (February) is a piece for two instruments (two pianos in this case), consisting of five sections. Each section has a base and a couple of variations on that base. The base gets repeated over and over, sometimes alternated by a variation, chosen at random by the players. Player I is the lead player and chooses when to go to the next section, alerting player II by playing the 'signal variation' belonging to that section, then playing the 'transition variation' to go to into the next section.
